15. Any welding performed on a mechanical part or on a structural member of a ride shall be made according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Failing that, the welding, including the materials, the welding practice and procedure used shall be suitable for the work performed on the mechanical part or on the structural member and shall be certified to this effect by the company by which it was performed.
Any welding subject to the first paragraph shall be performed by a qualified welder of a company holding a certificate, as the case may be, in accordance with CSA Standard W47.1-1983, “Certification of Companies for Fusion Welding of Steel Structures” or CSA Standard W47.2-M1987, “Certification of Companies for Fusion Welding of Aluminum”, published by the Canadian Standards Association.
